I have just started an account with quidco but failed to read the help pages! i have bought 2 items and neither have tracked. probably due to all the virus software and things i have. according to the site you have to disable practically everything which i am a bit wary of doing. Is there any way i can use another browser specifically for this one site that doesnt have any bad eggects on everything else. I really dont want to be disabling everything every time i use the quidco site.

You need to enable cookies, and possibly Javascript to allow Quidco and the associated merchant to track your purchase.
Antivirus or firewall software may restrict this. Feel free to use my "browser web test" page to see if you have cookies and Javascript enabled:

Hope this helps...
EDIT: More details from Quidco about which settings you might need to change (and how to change them) here: http://www.quidco.com/help/77/0 -

I read the link but this seems to suggest that my anti virus software would get in the way, my pop up blocker would get in the way, m and basically everything I do to protect my pc would have to be disabled. It suggested the setting up of an alternate browser but I dont really know what this entails and I dont know how long the actual blocking of the pop ups was to go on for. For instance , if I disabled everything then went onto quidco and did what I have to could I then enable all my security again or do I have to leave them for a certain amount of time?0 -
I have Opera installed on my PC that seems to track OK for kelkoo and highstreetweb (both daily clicks), but I haven't yet tried it for any purchases. It does have a very good interface for deleting cookies, and I only use this browser for Quidco. You can get it from www.opera.com. I have Norton Anti-virus and there doesn't seem to be a conflict with this.
The two sites mentioned give you cashback for visiting them on a daily basis and don't require a purchase. The Kelkoo cashback usually appears on the "My Earnings" page quite quickly (less than a day) so this could be a good one to test any new browser with.Fiscal drag, that's my problem. Too many people dragging on my fiscals.0 -
Hi!
Quidco works fine for me. I use the AVG virus scanner and have a software firewall (Kerio) and by using the current version of internet explorer, popups aren't a problem.
What software have you got installed?

I use Quidco through Firefox, AVG personal, Avast free, and a google popup blocker. Also using Windows firewall, with a Norton firewall in my router.
I've had no problems so far getting items tracked on Quidco.0 -
I have AVG (free edition) along with the windows XP firewall, have disabled pop ups though and have spyware blaster and ad ware blaster i think its called and i just use the microsoft explorer. Perhaps it will track but havent given it any time. Is it best to delete all cookies b4 going onto quidco site so its cookie free. How long after I have gone onto the site do you think any cookies should be left before they are deleted?0

Have you allowed enough time for tracking?
Quidco list the usual tracking time for the signup/purchase, but this does not mean yours will complete that quickly. If something hasn't tracked within 7 days of the recommended time they give, email CS with proof of purchase. They'll hopefully sort you out.0 -

Your setup sounds pretty similar to mine.
You can delete all your cookies before logging into quidco, the main thing is you don't want any cookies on your system from the shop you want to buy stuff from. In firefox it is possible to delete cookies from individual websites whereas I'm not aware of that functionality in IE.
Also it can take some time for cookies to track.
I hope that helps
