Successful claim for entire bathroom...

PS anyone else think it strange that this thread wasn't touched from 13th November till yesterday, then yesterday a brand new poster (1 post in total) says how bad Dolphin are, then today the OP comes and talks about his new problems with the bathroom?[/QUOT]
The only thing that is strange is why someone would choose to defend this company after all the appalling evidence against it.
I can't make any sense of this!
The thread was posted to on the 26th as well as the 13th and there is no post from anyone with a post count of 1 (although it could have been deleted, I suppose).
(Note that an 'E' was removed from 'quote' in the quoted section so that it quoted as near as possible too the way it appeared.)There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Oh, and the message left on the 15th February regarding the delivery of our new kitchen. Actually, the bathroom, yes, that's the bathroom, was delivered 11 days previously.
.
Ohhh poor you! that really must have been devastating. Imagine some girl in the office getting you mixed up with another customer. How did you cope? Did you phone the police/ fire brigade? Did you get her sacked?
Is this the bathroom you ordered back in 2009? What have you been doing for a bathroom for all that time?
So these leaks, is it fair to say they are really not that bad? If they had been leaking for a year I thought you might have seen signs of water?
But you still want dolphin to pay for the leak/ repairs? even though they repeatedly offered to fix the problems at the time yet you just turned them down?
PS how did your complaint to the ombudsman against Lloyds go? You really do seem to be unlucky with companies you deal with.
PPS I do think it strange a brand new poster bumps the thread up the day before you come back with all these recently discovered problems0 -

:rotfl:You hear that whooooshing noise? That's the point you've just missed. As you seem to have some difficulty with comprehension, let me be more clear: the mix-up was not a major issue in itself but yet another mistake and indication of inefficiency. i.e. a warning sign. Does that help?
[Is there a rolling eyes and shaking head smiley on this site? 'Cos I need one.]Is this the bathroom you ordered back in 2009? What have you been doing for a bathroom for all that time?
Flushing with a bucket. Staring at damaged walls and ceilings. Waiting. So these leaks, is it fair to say they are really not that bad? If they had been leaking for a year I thought you might have seen signs of water?
But you still want dolphin to pay for the leak/ repairs? even though they repeatedly offered to fix the problems at the time yet you just turned them down?
Ah I understand you now! You think it is okay for someone to leave leaks as long as they are not too bad and not too much faeces are involved! Gotcha.PS how did your complaint to the ombudsman against Lloyds go? You really do seem to be unlucky with companies you deal with.
Went well thank you. The Furniture Ombudsman were helpful; the Financial Ombudsman acknowledged that we were right, said Lloyds were wrong and would have been liable if Dolphin hadn't stumped up. HTH.PPS I do think it strange a brand new poster bumps the thread up the day before you come back with all these recently discovered problems
Whatever. See the previous reply.
[I really do need that roll-eye smiley.:(]0 -
So if you dont consider getting a message on your answering machine a major issue why did you write about it?
So when you were telling dolphin how bad their work was and they were to take it away did you really expect them to take it away? do you really think they would send people round to rip the tiles off the walls and take away the fittings? I think you knew by continually complaining about the bathroom but not agreeing to let them come round to fix your problems they would eventually refund you and let you keep the bathroom.
Did you ever tell dolphin you were going to rip their bathroom out?
I just don't know what you expect dolphin to do now. They offered 15 or 16 times (your figures) to send fixers round to sort the problems and you said no. Yet now you are complaining about two miniscule leaks that they were going to sort. If you had wanted the problems fixed why did you not let them into your house?
I honestly think there are two sides to every story. You've put your side and I suspect you've embellished it and left out a lot of inconvenient information.0 -

Because you asked. As in "Why keep a diary from day one?"So when you were telling dolphin how bad their work was and they were to take it away did you really expect them to take it away? do you really think they would send people round to rip the tiles off the walls and take away the fittings? I have no idea whether they would have taken it away, it's up to them. We're not too far away for them to deliver. You can think what you like but we were pretty sure that they expected us to give up. Just like the people on Watchdog did who had four, five teams round and still had problems.Did you ever tell dolphin you were going to rip their bathroom out?
Yes. Obviously.I just don't know what you expect dolphin to do now. They offered 15 or 16 times (your figures) to send fixers round to sort the problems and you said no.
I've already told you what Dolphin could do. If you're going to troll, at least read the replies.Yet now you are complaining about two miniscule leaks that they were going to sort. If you had wanted the problems fixed why did you not let them into your house?
Miniscule? So you've seen them then? And you've not read about what was leaking? And you've not cottoned on to the fact that they (Dolphin) would not have found these leaks until the faeces had leaked even more through our ceiling as opposed to finding them by removing their boxing?I honestly think there are two sides to every story. You've put your side and I suspect you've embellished it and left out a lot of inconvenient information.
As above, you can think what the hell you like. Everything is factually precise, documented/recorded and witnessed. Oh, and acknowledged by Dolphin.
Of course, I could just be making it all up and have conned the solicitor, the Master Builder expert witness, the Financial Ombudsman, the Furniture Ombudsman, the Dolphin electrical inspector who said their own electrics were unsafe, the Dolphin project manager who visited, the BBC, MBNA, Lloyds, and so on and so on. Well, I could have. But I haven't, so your conspiracy theory or whatever you want to call it, is, what's a nice word for it, bunkum, that'll do.0 -

From what I've heard about cases where dolphin and moben installations go wrong I very much doubt that any embellishment is needed.
I'd never even consider using them because of their pricing system (whereby they don't have a price list - each salesman tries to get as much as they can out of the customer, starting off high and making reductions towards the 'secret' minimum cost.)
But, well done for keeping this thread going and making sure ever more people get to read it.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Seriously though, OP. . . Coming on here with a detailed account of the appalling treatment meted out to you by Dolphin Bathrooms is just not on.
It makes you look like a ripped-off customer whose family life was turned into a mini-hell by 'em. And it gives the impression that you think this is some kind of Internet forum where consumers can benefit from the advice and experiences of others.
What nonsense.
This is The Official Dolphin Bathrooms Fan Club Board, set up by someone so devoted to the company that their username slavishly celebrates that which appears on the floors and ceilings of any property after Dolphin Bathrooms has spent three years on-site trying to change a tap washer or re-grout a tile.
I really think you should stop all these posts of yours because they are incredibly helpful.
Others should stop contributing to this thread because it bumps it.
In fact, nobody should say anything on here about the horrendous reputation and appalling "workmanship" of Dolphin Bathrooms because it's all true.
I trust this has clarified things for you.0 -

Lol- Dolphin Fan Club. I guess the people who are defending Dolphin will be hopping mad if and when it happens to them !0 -
Well they're certainly going to be hopping mad at you for a post that bumped this thread back up.
Whoops, and now I've just done the same. It's a conspiracy, i tell you.0 -
And it certainly needs bumping up.
Op I feel sorry for you, I've had a similar problem with flooring in a new build house, I know who stressful it is dealing with idiot 'trades' people and large companies who will do everything to avoid refunds or compensation when a job has been done badly. I spent over 12 months fighting and even created my own website with photographic evidence, sometimes you just know that it's all going horribly wrong. Well done for persevering, and I would go after them for the repair costs to your floors, make them pay.0
