Purchase Malwarebytes?

Since Malwarebytes appears to be quite effective at removing infections would the experts on here consider it's active protection to be better than AVAST/AVG. If so, for peace of mind would it be a prudent investment to purchase the full version?
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

Malwarebytes is not a antivirus program. It's just an additional program used along side your antivirus and catches some things your antivius misses.0

There's no need to purchase anything unless you're looking for a corporate solution, and I'd avoid AVG like the plague. It was good five-to-ten years ago, but now there are better choices for individuals such as Avira, Comodo and Avast. One of those with Comodo's Firewall/Defence+ is all anyone should really require. Malwarebytes seems only to be of use once you have an infection, so it's never been of use to me. Prevention really is better than cure.0

AVG = virus on your machine .

If using Windows you can not do better than Microsoft Security Essentials. Forget the old prejudices about MS, this is the business. Recommended by the vast majority of knowledgeable techies.0

You don't need to invest in the malwarebytes paid version if you can just update the programme manually and run the scans every so often.
As stated above, malwarebytes isn't an antivirus so you need an antivirus alongside it. AVG is not recommended (personally, and feeling among others here) and we would recommend avira, avast or MSE.0 -
Thanks. I agree about AVG which is why I run Avast. I just thought as Malwarebytes seems to detect malware that Avast misses, it might be useful to have it running as a real time scanner. (It does have a real time protection module in the paid version though you guys seem to disagree?).Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

If you want to make MBAM update automatically, you can write a simple script with AutoIt and get it to run as a scheduled task...0
