Using BT hub phones with Plus net - is it possible?

You can't be connected to 2 ISP's on the same line. If you've already migrated to Plusnet, and are using your Plusnet username and password, then you are not connecting to BT, are you?No free lunch, and no free laptop

i dont know when the bt connection shuts down though, because if we unplugged the plus net (as of yesterday), we could still log on via bt.
the thing is those forums that were linked to above, had a plethora of information about getting the bt hub to work with other isps and very few managaged it without messing around with numbers and codes and settings etc and all my OH did was change the username
doesnt seem possible but he did think he had it sorted0 -
Once your line is physically switched to the new ISP then that's it, it's no longer on BT. When you say 'log on' are you referring to your BT Yahoo webmail account? That may still be active for a while, but that is not relevant -you're still connecting to the internet via Plusnet. No free lunch, and no free laptop

no, i mean opening up the internet (if thats what happens, i dont know the terminology)
so are you saying that the point that we can use plusnet, ergo means we have not got any access to bt?
but on friday night when OH set it all up, when we took the plus net out to check someting we were able to put it back to bt for a bit. maybe thats just the first day or something0 -

yes, regarding the email, bt told us we have it for 3 months free and then need to pay £1.50 a month to keep the bt email address, and we'll be doing that later, but no, i didnt mean the webmail account0 -

I don't understand what you mean, as you don't have to 'log in' to access the internet-you are permanently connected with broadband. How do know who you are connecting to? If you are using your Plusnet username and password, then it's Plusnet you are connecting to-how do you know you were 'back to BT'?
When you switch ISP's the line is moved, once it's with the new ISP you cannot be using the old one-there is no overlap.
No need to pay for BT's Premium Webmail service, just yourself a Gmail account and be ISP-independent.No free lunch, and no free laptop
