Thanks so far. I will remove the games eventually once my 60 mins free demos run out. I do have a Office to put on from another laptop but I am assuming that I will need to try and get it going to uninstall and reinstall on here what with the licensing etc?? I may well use the webcam at some point.

you might not have to uninstall office from the other pc, im not 100% on what the EULA says exactly, but it usually allows two installs using the same key, you would have to read it carefully.

In theory if you have Office 2007 on the defunct lappy, you should be able to put in your license key from that , sadly I can't look at mine since it expired last month and I bought 2010. I think it is somewhere within Word(or excel etc) click on the Logo in word select options and it should be in there as update(or anytime) or within word click on the ? and enter license for search , woolly memory I'm afraid.

As for the webcam I would disable it from startup rather than un-install (you can always put it back) Unless you want to send us a vid.... (no forget that :eek:)

Well, I uninstalled and they then opened up IE with a "why are you leaving us?" page. I assumed this meant it had been all correctly done. Shall I have a go with the remover tool?

It may have gone then but most Antivirus products usually leave some bits behind, perhaps AVG have sorted theirs anyway.

How much memory has it got ? 1Gb? Does it run alright anyway , if so it is not too much of a problem for you, but beware of some of the "free toolbars etc" that keep cropping up on various downloads. Enjoy and of course you know where we are:cool:
