Netbook Help Please

Well my laptop finally died a death after much prolonging. I have purchased a netbook but I'd like to do some clearing up of the bits and pieces that really don't need to be on there but I don't know where to start. Could anyone help please?

Might be a silly question, but which Netbook, Which Operating system.

Not a silly question at all, I was just waiting to see if it was possible I have the Samsung N130 with XP. I did put the AVG 2011 that came with it but I have taken that off and used Avast as the AVG was too heavy for the system and slowed everything down.

OK now, download ccleaner from here run it and select tools, then select startup and save as a text file (near the bottom right) post that here, and then select uninstall from tools and save as a text file again and post here. Then we will see what we can figure. :A

i go by the rule of thumb, if you dont use it (or need it) uninstall it, unless its an integral part of the system (wifi/camera drivers etc) but these should be clearly labeled.

Well, I uninstalled and they then opened up IE with a "why are you leaving us?" page. I assumed this meant it had been all correctly done. Shall I have a go with the remover tool?

Bob - I wish I could be sure of what I am removing but I just don't 100% know.

Just gonna feed face, others might pick up but if not I will get back later. Quickly though the Oberon Games are carp so I deleted them from my N140, Adobe Reader speed launcher I would get rid of (seem to spend all my days getting rid of that from my various PC's;)) Also would get rid of Windows live unless you use it , and the Samsung recovery I don't use but I have other options for that . Same goes for Samsung Updater. I don't use the web cam unless I need to so I don't let that start up. I got rid of AnyPC. Don't know about Magic Doctor , nor Movie bits I use VLC.

HijackThis will tell you if it is completely gone hopefully but that will be for later... laters

ok, from the first glance anything with oberon media in the name can be removed, unless you play games.

if you dont use microsoft office you can remove it, this is your call, i have never used the pre-loaded office that came with a new pc, i have always used my own media and key

the rest of the samsung stuff may be necessary for your laptop, i wouldnt recommend uninstalling anything due to some parts not working again.

other than that, not much can be removed imo... im sure someone else will say if there is anything that can be removed
