This is an easy job for you to complete yourself! I just found out when B and Q took their deliveries of fresh turf and picked up that day, had already prepared the ground and just laid it! Was very cheap and looks great! :)

I was wondering about the labour cost to lift the old turf, prepare and laid new turf. Its about 50m2.

    thanks

50 squared metres or 50 metres squared?!

If the prior, once again, if you're half able you can do yourself with a bit of graft, otherwise get some quotes in?

I'd hazard a guess the OP's garden is more like 50m2 as opposed to 2500m2.

If it is the latter one would be more likely to get one's full time gardener handle it all.
  • i'd recommend astroturf

i had my lawn replaced after building work and it looks excellent

I was considering this but was put off by the cost. Would you mind telling me which company you bought it from and whether you laid it yourself?
  • i used a company called Easigrass, using a product called Knightsbridge

they came in, dug up the existing lawn and weeds, the garden was a total dump from when we moved in, and removed all waste. It took them a day to do the job. i would recommend them, plus with astroturf down, it really is 0 maintanance which means no grassfeeder or lawn mower/raking. looks great all year round

Thanks, they quoted for me too, but it was too expensive - I've got a small house but 3 areas of lawn and the total quote was thousands of pounds which I can't afford.
