new sky subscription

Hi all. About to move into a new place where the outgoing tennant (a friend) is a sky subscriber. I'm going to take up a new subscription but just wondering what introductory offers I can get whilst keeping the same box and avoiding reinstallation or the like. Likely to use them for broadband and phone too. Wondering what's the best deal I can get.

Any advice welcome!

Thanks!

  • i work for sky so your better off just getting a new box even if you have a box it is still a one year contract. if your going to join sky got to sky .com and check your post code to see what broadband you can get. when you join call 08442414141 thats the direct number for sky going with third parties always mess up your account. when you set up your account do introduce a friend, basically a friend who has sky would get £50 m+s vouchers and you get a free sky+ box and free install, you can get a one pack , broadband up to 20mb get then to check what speed you can get and free calls line rental (£11p/m) total£30 p/m, option 2 set up an order for sky tv only, cancel it before it gets installed and youll be called within a month and be offered any tv package half price for 12months , so you could get sky world , 6pack movies sports broadnad unlimited (up to 20mb unlimited download ) line rental free calls for for £54.50 pm. when you do join sky you do get 2 bills within one month as you always pay one month in advance, so if you do sign up make sure the agent explains the billing properly instead of coming through to my dept, ( cancelations and downgrades) to complain, what package where you thinking of getting
  • What deals are available for me ?

    Currently i have a Sky+ box and am out of contract....Just paying £19 a month i think...

Just bought a nice big telly and wanna go HD...
So was thinking of upgrading to HD and putting existing box upstairs ( no multiroom yet )

However at the moment i have Virgin broadband ( out of contract ) and was also looking at there packages..

Would sky offer me a deal or just a regular package....

Why not just go for Freesat unless you want Sports or Movies? Cost-nil per month.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Great advice, thanks for your help. I was thinking of getting movies and sport in addition to the basic channels. Am I right in thinking it's a bit extra for entertainment stuff like Dave and the News channels too?
