All kinds of virus problems

Hi,

after using hitman pro 3.5 it stated that there was a possible variant of the TDL3 ( alais Aluren) rootkit detected this could affect the detection of malicious files.

It also found trojans which it is supposed to have got rid of.

I am using microsoft security essantials av software.

I found online which said it would get rid of the rootkit ( Kepersky TDSS killer which found it and said it removed it upon re booting.

But I am going round it circles. it says it got rid of it but then reappears.. I changed to avira av software in case MSE wasn't working.

Neither av picks up any problems when scanning

I have had a rookit.win.32.TDSS.tdl4 showing.

I have run maleware scan thats normally recommended on here and it picked up something ( i went to bed as it took over 3 hours to scan and other half doesn't know what it found but it said it had deleted everything.

I need some advice as to what to do now please as I keep getting trojans showing in hitman pro but they seem to come back

Just now MSE found PWS:win32/zbot.gen!y which said it was a password stealer

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please

avast boot time scan or backup data and reinstall windows if you want to be sure it's clean.

post the logs, it's not clear what you have now and where.

  • Get kaspersky

    http://esd.element5.com/pimages/50198/kaspersky_internet_security_2011_trial.html

30 day free trial with full use of the program. Hopefully that should help unless better knowledge becomes apparent.

virus scanner logs, rootkits by their nature hide themselves from the operating system which is why you need to do a scan with a boot cd ideally, or a boot time scan.

    fix these

    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-21-2226809926-1596684466-3194300632-1010\..\Run: [{870B1F29-A6E9-3CF2-2412-0DA9F8B6666B}] "C:\Documents and Settings\Alison_2\Application Data\Pesyuw\poypd.exe" (User '?')

    > . !!!! ----> .
  • when i try to get rid of the 2 you said a box pops up saying:this action cannot be completed because the other application is busy??? nothing else is open or being used?
  • sorry dont have a cd and have no idea how to do a boot time scan
  • malwarebytes will remove all of them

probably even succeed in the quick scan. virus software wont help you as you can see they tell you about it but dont do anything about it
  • ok will re scan with malwarebytes but did this last night ( it took 3 hours) and i still have problems this morning.
