For what you intend to use it for I should think it will be fine. As always you get what you pay for with TVs but I guess this will be a low use keep you happy while being a domestic godess device, more for listening to than watching just make sure the sound is ok and that you will be able to hear it above the sound of cooker hoods, clanking saucepans and other kitchen noises. At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Please do not pick me up for this as, after all, it is only an internet forum.0

I know the one you're looking at - don't know if it helps but I've got my eye on it for exactly the same purpose! (Need the new kitchen before I can go for it tho)Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Are you able to use the vouchers online, you could use Quidco and get a bit more off then?

I've seen the technika for £110 19" with freeview, i'd pay £30 ontop of my vouchers for this.

Bear in mind that Technika are just Tesco branded job lots, and once out of warranty you will never get parts if needed. If you're happy to buy on the basis that it may be redundant in a year or so, fine.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Don't forget that Freeview needs a strong signal-its possible/probable that you'll need an external aerial to get a picture - internal aerials that gave a passable/grainy picture with analog TV generally don't cut the mustard.0
