Her broadband costs have gone up with BT again and if theres one thing they hate its trying to talk to BT (I can relate!) So she's asked me to look into the differance in costs of sky vs BT.
Now to start the landline rental is cheaper. And looking on their site its 19.50 all in which is cheaper BUT you have to pay for the box and installation. I accept you have to pay for the installation but is there anyway you can get the box for free? When I signed up I signed up 6 months in advance of my BT contract ended as a had a salesman visit so got a few freebies out of him (inc free box for signing up to sky movies for 1 month, that deal has now changed to 12 months lol)
A bit back (when I tried to make her look at this then) I had a leaflet for a free HD box for me and her for recommending her etc. Not sure where that is BUT could calling them saying she wants to join BUT the cost of the box if putting her off. Do you think that could work?

You start off by mentioning broadband costs, but then the rest of your thread seems to be focused around Sky TV?
What services exactly are you interested in getting for your mother?
Whatr are your LLU options? Do an exchange search on https://www.samknows.com
You do not have to subscribe to Sky TV to get Sky telephony or broadband. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks
LLU options are AOL, O2, C&W, Orange, Sky, Talk Talk & Tiscali
I didnt know you can get Sky Broadband without the tv?
I guess I go on about the TV as its what can she get more for her money then she is getting now, rather then getting the cost down. (And I wonder if she's fancying the Sky+ box as she cant record anything on her current TV set up)The will to save every money saving penny we can0 -
Your obvious choice there is 02 LU then. Use the 3 months free offer and sign up via a cashback site, If you have an O2 mobile number, register that to save another £5 pm.
Total first year cost that way only £37 (£3.08pm). Or maybe Sky if you are looking at a TV sub as well-but why bother when Freesat is available for nothing, unless she wants Sports or Movies?
Sky dropped the TV sub requirement back in the spring.
If she wants Sky+ she will require a twin feed from the LNB, not just a new box.No free lunch, and no free laptop
