Parking Ticket when attending Kids event

You need to check who owns the ground you are parked on.
I know the council round here keep putting in road signson ground they think is public highway when in fact in many cases it belongs to the relevant householder/landowner.
But is it worth the hassle?0 -
Firstly the Highway Code is only a reference book,it does not make road law. Second go to the parking section of this forum and post up your pcn etc, all sides and remove personal bits, and all the story. It may well be to your advantage to post on pepipoo.com as well.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

As I said before, its down to the motorist to park appropriately, and in a correct place.
If they choose to park on/over verges / footpaths / yellow lines, then they should accept they run the risk of receiving a ticket.
They could have parked a little further away, where the parking was less busy.0 -

Have you read the ticket? Can you confirm it is all in order?
OP, take this to pepipoo for some proper advice.0 -
Yes, but the PCN refers to legislation as referenced in the Highway Code, ie the Road Traffic Act, which is law.peter_the_piper wrote: »Firstly the Highway Code is only a reference book,it does not make road law. They target people who can't / won't park correctly. Events will naturally create parking problems and most councils will allocate resources to "deal" with those problems. The type of event is a non-issue - after all, large amounts of people could turn up to any event.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Unless they have also fulfilled the statutory requirements for the TRO and the PCN then no contravention has occured.Yes, but the PCN refers to legislation as referenced in the Highway Code, ie the Road Traffic Act, which is law.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
I think I need to get a copy of the TRO as you suggested. Thing is they always take AGES to respond back to you, and in which case the bill is getting bigger each time.0

Please go to the parking forum, all there will help you without getting lost in amongst other posts.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
