Is it the end, or just the beginning.....?

LK Bennett? Yes, probably will do so at the weekend.
Re the bonus, we are very lucky at our office - everyone, no matter what job they do, from the most junior to the most senior, gets the same fixed Christmas bonus after tax. (summer bonuses are more indiviudal so vary hugely).
This means that the lower paid, actually get a very large bonus, percentagewise.......so they are very lucky indeed. The office works on the basis that no matter what your job, you are all vital for the success of the office, so should be treated equally on things like the Christmas bonus.
It is a very good place to be - and I hope I am working there for many years to come, as they really do look after us, one way or another.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Can I leap out of lurkdom to suggest that you invest £20 of your bonus on an electric blanket?
I know you said you would be getting one for Christmas but now is when you need it. By Christmas you will be toasty warm in the new house.0 -
Well I'll join in with a spending money suggestion, if you've not got any, manuka honey in hot water is very soothing for sore throats. It's expensive, but the natural antiobiotics are supposed to work. I think ideally you need 15+ strength for it to work really well, but other posters will probably know more.0

An electric blanket would, indeed, be a good buy.....
As would the honey. I do feel pretty meh to be honest, but it is only a sore throat
It is the office party tomorrow - I will not be ill for that. I will NOT. I absolutely bloody refuse to be ill for it.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Sorry your throat is so sore, Hypno - I second se's suggestion of manuka honey - on an ongoing basis, strength 10 is fine, but for an actual lurgy, use 15 as she suggested. Manuka is one of the investments I've made in myself recently - its on the porridge every day now!
Hope things improve over the day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Definitely manuka honey 15+ either neat on the spoon or in hot water with lemon. I can guarantee that doing that a couple of times will ease the pain. Absolutely - all I'd add is don't have the water too hot - don't want to destroy the antibac/antiviral properties.

Another Manuka honey fan here - I take 1 tsp neat every hour at the first sign of a lurgy and it usually stops it from developing. The sooner you start, the better.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0
