I already have it and am stuck with it.
I'm just wondering if anybody here has any idea what kind of impact it will have on my bills (meter) if I turn it on? I'm cold but poor!

I can confidently say that the more you turn your heating on, the more electricity it will use and the more you will pay...
If you are on an E7 tariff (as you should be with storage heaters), then it's pretty pointless not to use them, as on E7 you are paying a premium rate for all your peak rate consumption. So if you're not going to use them and get the off peak saving, switch to a standard rate tariff.
Very hard to give any meaningful info without knowing what your current usage/bills are.
Are you on the cheapest tariff? No free lunch, and no free laptop

That's a good point - I'm not entirely sure which tarrif I'm on - we're with N-Power if that's any help.

Not really, each supplier has dozens, if not hundreds of tariffs-the details are on your bill.
Then go to one of the comp sites recommended on the main board, put in your annual consumption figures in kWh (not your monthly DD payment) and see what come up. Then switch (if necessary) using a cashback site.No free lunch, and no free laptop
