Do mobile companies keep records of text messages?
Im hoping the answer is yes!!
Im taking someone to court and have text messages received from him that will be used as evidence. He is on Orange (PAYG) and I was hoping they could confirm the messages were sent from him to me, and better still the actual message content. Does anyone know if this is possible? I understand bout the data protection act, but all I would be asking them to do is confirm a text was sent to me?
Also, I am with singlepoint (contract), and hope they keep the same or better information. Due to a phone fault, I lost the messages I sent in reply, but still have the delivery reports and of course, they show up on my itemised bill. Do you think they would store the message content at all, and would they let me have a copy of their records on this?
I shouldnt need it, as its on supplementary evidence, but it would help me better.
Cheers
