Vero warning after wristband sale

personally i dont see the problem with selling REAL wristbands as the LAF will have got their money when they were originally purchased, this means that they will not be out of pocket at all. the fake ones are a bit naughty really. i have bought some real ones from the nike website and will no doubt be passing them on when i'm done with them but i have paid for them so no one is losing out. it is justthe same as buying something you see on here that is a bit cheap and selling it for a profit. the only one losing is the end buyer, then again they will be getting it cheaper than normal probably so everyones a winnerI would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

I'm not sure it's a case of "no-one is losing out", more the fact that people are exploiting items originally sold to benefit a charity.
The main gripe with the LAF ones seems to be the fact they take so long to arrive. I bought mine last May, and they arrived within a week. Then they became a must have fashion item, people started buying them buy the truckload to resell and the LAF could not keep up with demand, so people turn to the ripoff merchants because they can't wait a few weeks.
I just find it so sad that people are so greedy they would do this - and the ones who sell fakes, well I'm too polite to type what I think of them...0 -
I have been offered the LAF ones from a Chinese supplier, 5000 for 15cents each, woulndt touch them with a bargepole but I am sure others will. I think the price went down to 6cents if you bought 250,000.
It would be a nice gesture if Ebay passed some of the fees they are earning on the wristbands to Charity !0 -
I think the yellow Livestrong ones have bottomed out now. I bought one a couple of weeks ago for 76p including post and packing on ebay, the poor seller must have made a real loss as he also accepted paypal!
A quick look at the listings today show most yellow Livestrong ones finishing unsold.
The black and white Nike ones are doing well, although i have managed to pick up one each for my sons at around the £3 mark, including post and packing and paypal, which I don't think is too bad.

There are so many fakes around at the moment - and so many reselling in bulk for profit - I would recommend just giving the money to the charity concerned and make your own (suggested by Newsround today). (Unless you buy direct from the charity/cause)
Even for some of the genuine red-nose day props such as the red wig from Claires more money was made in profit by the manufacturers, distributors and shops than went to the charity. If I remember rightly it was about 20p to charity for a £3.99+ wig.
Same applies to charity cards - boxed cost £3 to £5 with about 15p going to charity. Better to buy a cheap £1 box and give £2 to charity (£2.56 with gift aid)

I really don't agree with selling these bands for a profit. Surely it would be better for the money to go direct to the charity rather than lining someones pocket. If I had some then I'd be quite happy to send them out FOC as long as the receiver makes a donation to the charity associated with the wristband.0

so is this the latest craze then a wristband.. jezzz give them a friendship braclet and tell them its the latest wristband that the latest pop group or football icon is wearing ... whatever next i ask myself ...............Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
