Vero warning after wristband sale

I am totally confused , I bid on and won a wristband for my daughter and paid immediately by paypal. The next day I received an email from ebay saying that this item was being investigated as part of a VERO programme. The item I bought was removed but the seller is still selling hundreds of them on ebay.

Can anyone help???

Seems a bit odd to me, especially when they are selling so many other bands! The only thing that comes to mind is that it is being investigated as they might be fake? Send an e-mail to eBay and they should explain what is going on.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)

Maybe because the bands are meant to sold to make money for

Cancer Reseach the seller is making a huge profit even if he is buying them from LAF

5.5 VeRO Programme. We are not responsible for verifying a seller's right to list and sell items. eBay's Verified Rights Owner ("VeRO") programme attempts to ensure that listed items or the content of listings do not infringe the copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property rights of third parties. By participating in our VeRO programme, third parties can notify us in the event that they believe their intellectual property rights to have been infringed, and we may remove such infringing items and/or suspend infringing sellers. Please note that selected personal information which you provide to us may be made available to VeRO programme participants as described in our Privacy Policy.

I cannot understand why Ebay are allowing other listings though?

    EDIT

You can buy 10 Direct and they including shipping to the UK for $21-50 (about £12) I would do a charge back on Paypal if it was me and support the course instead of lining the pockets of someone that want's to make money out of cancer

I had a look at this part of ebay before as well and was totally confused why he/she is still selling them, something seems to be amiss - thanks for your help though

I have report a couple of sellers over the last few weeks because they were selling the "livestrong" wristbands in all different colours & The Lance Armstrong Foundation have confirm that the genuine "livestrong" bands are only supplied in yellow.
When I have reported a seller I have only been able to do it by individual items he/she is selling so maybe the item in question on the this thread had been reported but not the others - Just a thought.

  • .... that`s probably the reason, but you would expect ebay to have the sense to check the sellers other items too Duuuh !!!!

I am going out of my mind with my 3 kids wanting the 'Stand Up - Speak Up' wristbands. I have flatly refused to buy from ebay (not because I have anything against ebay, I use it myself lots, but would not line anyones pockets in a case like this where I can be almost certain that the final bid received (often £15.00 for a wristband which would normally 10% of that) will not be going to any charity other than their own!

Dont get me wrong, I have no objection to people earning big profits but lets be fair and do it the right way ...

anyway, after all that ranting, I decided to order the 'Make Poverty History' (a bit ironic after all I said above) bands from the Fairtrade web site

    http://www.traidcraftshop.co.uk/products/list.asp?topGroupCode=FASACC&groupCode=MPHACC

at a £1.00 each for the cotton bands with a plastic fastener and Free Postage if you use the code MPHACC

Heres hoping this will keep my kids happy until I can get the Nike Stand Up Speak Up bands !! if ever...

I find it hard to understand anyone wanting a rubber band so much they are willing to pay money for it but if people will pay for these things, people are going to sell them .

Just to add to that....I sold mine the day before yesterday for £11
It was one of the free blue beat the bully bands though not the charity ones.
I was flabergasted anyone would bid to that price but they did.
