hello all,
if you have the PC version of black op then you mabe experienceing issues at the moment.
1. stuttering
2.floating gun
3 infint ammo crates can be exploited.
4. some menu option are greyed out and not available.
ill emphasis on the stuttering bug.
multiplayer is unplayable to most Online gamers, not because of steam works being overloaded but because the game itself has a bug. the stuttering (lag) is due to bad coding not sorted after passporting the game from console virsion to pc verion, your CPU is put under maximum load as you play the game check your task manager performance graphs that will confirm, the game isnt utalising ram (memory)properly if at all while in multiplayer and your graphics gpu usage will be at maximum also. this is prsent in singleplayer mode also.
if you have a budget cpu that meets the minimum requirements of the game my advice would be not to play it as i fear putting your cpu under this kind of load for long periods may burn your cpu up. running the game under minimun graphics doesnot make any difference as this is a bug of the game and not directx issue,
it isnt a connectivity issue via broadband, steam servers are under load by people downloading the game and will level out after a few days so joining treyarch servers will take time.
DO NOT MESS WITH ANY OF THE GAMES FILES AND FOLDERS OR REGISTRY IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX, VAC2 (valve anti cheat) will ban you and as a reminder of a bug in vac from when modernwarfare release 12000 people were banned for no reason, due to vac fault so do not chance anything.
treyarch the developers has pulled down their support forum, there is no comment on when a hotfix or patch will be available or even that they acnowladge the bug.
no matter how powerfull your system or cpu you WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM at some level.
if i knew yesterday of these issues i would of held off buying the pc version untill it had been sorted. the game for me is unplayable in singleplayer or in multiplyer.

I noticed this last night too, playing for the first time.
I updated graphics drivers to see if it were my PC config.
I noticed both CPU and RAM at 100%, I don't mean fluctuating around 100, it was straight lining at 100%.
My PC is plenty capable to run this game (or is that "should be??").0 -
Hi
My son has tried 3 different PS3 disks for Call of Duty: Black Ops. None work on his PS3 although all his other PS3 disks are fine.
As far as we're concerned

whats so funny. the threat is real putting your cpu under 100% stress for long periods of gaming ups the core temps. a spike here and there is nothing but 100% load over time can be damaging. budget processors are not desinged to be stressed for long period nor is mid-high end processors. my core temps hit close to 60 degc after 1 hour of playing CODBO. my GPU hits 80dC on 100% gpu load (within its recomended 9800gtx xxx+ xfx).
josh olin of treyarch has said they are working a patch to fix, but really it should only need hotfixes for little nigly bits not for playability.0 -

I also have had a problem with this game, it crashed! Took it back for replacement so far so good, and as for updating my ps3- done that already! The fault is in the cd not the PS3.You live..You learn.:)0 -
