Just seen a TV ad with Comet selling a Kenwood KMC510 for £175 with free delivery 5-8days. I was unlucky on the Amazon black friday sales. I might go for this. http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Mixers/buy-KENWOOD-KMC510-Mixer/429317

    My Kitchenaid/Amazon nightmare.....

I wasn't quick enough to get one of the deals and after mentioning it on the 'Black Friday' forum one of the members said she'd won one for her mother who decided she didn't want it so I could use her account if I wanted.

Great! My wife gets what she'd asked for and I haven't had to pay the extortionate (UK) Kitchenaid prices!

I logged onto the other members account and I took screenshots with the promotional discount as a safety precaution as I'd won another item earlier in the week which was discounted but they charged me full price! Exactly the same thing happened with the mixer but when I tried to sort it out amazon wouldn't talk to me as I wasn't the account holder. Even though they could clearly see my payment details and my address and my account they wouldn't do anything. The account holder stopped returning my begging emails to help to get it sorted (it would have only taken either a phone call or an email that I'd prepared beforehand, which is a shame really!).

I tried to talk to them to sort it out before despatch as I told them that if they don't honor the deal then I'd be sending the item back which wastes their time and money. They didn't bother to contact me so I had to call, I think now it's 5 or 6 times, to which they said just refuse the delivery on the door and when the item was back with them they'd refund the card I paid with. Great as I was going to be out on the Monday morning so no problems.........other than my neighbour took the parcel in while I was out!

Anyhow, after calling yet again to get a return as a 'gift' the CS rep went through the procedure then said I'd receive a returns label via email. I asked her what my email was and she didn't have it.......! Wow!....... After giving my details for the returns I'd heard nothing for 3-4 hours which meant I had to explain the same thing via the email function on Amazon which did result in a returns label. DHL collected the mixer yesterday so I've still to wait to see if they !!!! up the return on the card and end up sending £260 to the account holder (who won't return my emails!) and not me........we'll see but anything is possible with these idiots.

All in all Amazon have left a bad feeling with me and I know I'll try and look for other suppliers in the future. I'll also remind myself that no matter how much I want something, DO NOT rely on other people to come through. What started as a great gesture turned out to be a nightmare.

I think I've convinced my wife to spend the same money on a TV for the bedroom so all is not lost!!!!
