Another broadband question

Following earlier post this week, I am quite keen on the Namesco Broadband package that has been recommended by several members.
Regarding monthly download limits, how do I know I have overstepped the limit. I doubt I will, as having survived on dial-up whilst the broadband revolution has passed me by, I think I will keep within 2GB a month. I'm just afraid the availability and ease of surfing will go to my head and get me into trouble.
Do I have to keep a running tally of what I have downloaded or is there some way of checking how much monthly total I have eaten into before I go too far?
Also, I currently use Yahoo mail, so will not need a dedicated email address through my ISP. Will this take more or less download capacity by not using their email service?
Sorry for my ignorance!
Thanks, L

Google netmeter - download this free program, and it will monitor your usage for you
email is email, and will use the same amount as any other email service.... unless you are always going to be using yahoo's webmail of course, as you would have to download many pages when checking your email... but see how it goes... then perhaps change your habits in the future....0 -
Thanks for replies.
Have downloaded Netmeter - what a great program. Helps me get my head around what sort of usage figures are my norm.

The chances of you exceeding it are remote, unless you download massive music files or do loads of gaming. I work at home, which means I have to upload and download big files (usually at least a couple of Mb each) several times a day and never exceeded my limit even when it was only 1Gb.0

You obviously don't do much work, as it very easy to exceed 2GB without downloading music/movies etc.!
