Hi, looking for more help now.....

my dad, very hard to buy for.....not into anything in particular as he spends 5 days a week living away from home (travelodge) for work and when he is home at the weekends he just chills with my mum or goes out for a coffee. He is a coffee lover but they have a expensive coffee machine and he buys his beans in London (special shop apparently). This was my only thoughtful idea for him and getting a bit stuck as he is very particular about clothes, shows etc...was going to go for socks but really feels like im not buying him anything useful. And if I ask him what he wants he says 'oh I will have a think and let you know' well he never does, no matter how much I badger him.
He has expressed interest in getting a telescope but im sure the one he wants will be way way way over my budget.
So any ideas for a 54 year old man (he dont wear aftershave either...god he is impossible!!)
would be very very gratefully recieved.
    TIA

If he is interested in getting a telescope how about some books to do with star gazing/astronomy?
We have a specialist telescope shop nearby that does a course on astronomy for beginners, maybe theres something like that near you?

  • Little boy is obsessed with Fireman Sam, especially Norman Price.

Trying to find anywhere with the 12 inch talking Norman Price in stock is becoming a nightmare.

    Any help would be appreciated.

im looking for a cheap DAB radio....but i dont want to get the very cheapest and it end up being rubbish!! so one with a good review would be good too :)
i cant believe ive almost done my shopping! LOL

I have bought and also use myself Roberts DAB radios. Quality is brilliant. Depends on how much you want to spend but the ones I have bought have been around the £50-£60 mark from John Lewis.

Hi, has anyone come across good quality but reasonable Army/combat costume for a boy of 5? Amazon/E Bay have many but they don't look great!. I do like the HM Armed Forces one in Argos but it's £25 & thats with £5 off at the moment.
If anyone comes across it any cheaper or one similar i would be grateful.
I have even been to the camping shops but by the time i buy the jacket, trousers etc it is no cheaper.
    Thanks in advance.

This is now 1/2 price at Argos, so down to £15.

"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

    Hi
    Yes thanks.
I was deciding whether to buy the suit at £25.
I decided after a few factors such as .....
    1) My mum offering to go halfs
    2) The fact the set is the ULTIMATE dress up set so includes extra accessories (just the suits on E-Bay where getting to that price) & many online HM Forces suits at £25 don't have the extras
    3) And there where only a few left in my local stores & I was panicking they would go out of stock or back up to £30.
So then I made the decision to buy one YESTERDAY begrudgingly paying the £25:eek:(well, £12.50 with Mums money).
Then TODAY I got the Argos half price e-mail & scrolled through it to see it at £15:( so I was cheeky, I went back in to the store got a full refund (saying it was the wrong suit) then went & bought it again at £15 at the next store near me (reserved it first!) so got back my £10! :money::).
One Happy Mummy & Boy on Xmas day!!! now it is quite a bargain:D!.
