He's into the environment and things like that and so far I have got a mousemat made of recycled tyres, some pens made from old video cases, some pencils made from plastic cups, some fairtrade chocolate, some 'organic' socks (!) and a calculator that runs on water (found at the Eden project when I was on holiday!). I'd quite like a couple more ideas along the ecology/recycling theme if anyone has any.
You could adopt a tree for him via The Woodland Trust?0 -
just an idea about something nice
to put your goodies in IKEA is great
for baskets, bowls etc.Or if you cant
get to IKEA why not have a look in
Tesco
they do a set of three oblong wicker
baskets large/medium & small.Each one
has a cream cotton linning.I keep
the small one in our little tourer,my
neice snaffled the medium one but
the large one is around 11 inches wide
10 inches deep and 8 inches tall.
The set of three cost £3.98 and I know
they are still instock as I saw them last
week.I have my large one filled with
pot pouri.Looks really good although its
big enough to store magazines in.
Also check out your local florist
ask if you can buy some cellophane,
the kind they wrap the flowers in
I have done this in the past and the
most I have ever paid for a really
large piece nearly two metres long
but nearly 35 inches in width is 80p.
It will give your stuff a nice shop
bought look.0 -

So why not make a male pamper basket (tongue in cheek!) - Bath Pillow, rubber duck (small packs in WILKO), can of beer/lager/wine (small bottles in ASDA 3 for £1), Kingsize Mars/Yorkie, Magazine (Car or Sport) and if they are a smoker, how about a cigar?
Guys need pampering too!
that sounds really cool, and i'm a guy by the way.

Stuff I have given as presents for various blokes in the past:
Scarf, gloves, slippers, wooly hat, cook-book, mini bottle of champagne, cheese, nice cordial like Bottle Green or Belvoir, fudge from Thontons, home made cake (more of a birthday thing I guess), party poppers, key ring, mini Christmas puds, reference books including an atlas and a guide to antiques and collectables, CDs, records, videos, shiny things including a glitter lamp and a plastic thing with spinny coloured LEDs that make patterns.0 -
If they smoke buy a box of cigars and split it between the hampers. The xmas night they can site back with the cigar the bottle of minutre and have a smoke and a drink.0

What about a DIY basket.
Sandpaper, tape measure, screw drivers, chisels, hammer, toolbox, wall plugs etc.
Or a car washing basket, sponge, car cleaner, car wax, etc.0 -
an alternative to a regular rubber duck would be a novelty one from play.com - i.e duckor who, duck fadar
What about retro sweets?
toffee blocks that come with a mini hammer0
