Your Cards are lovely Kirsty

I've seen blank cards and cellophane wrappers in Wilkinsons in the kiddies craft section.
Went to Brighton today and The Works there is closing down as well.
I suspect its a marketing thing, like the way EISENEGGER is always having 70% off and closing down sales.0 -
I know this thread ia a bit old, but I've only been browsing around this bit of the site this week and think the site I get my cards from has been good and saved me loads over the last few years. :money:
It is https://www.americangreetings.com . It is a subscription site which costs $19.99 a year, but that is for 3 people together, so my Mum and sister and i subscribe.Of course it is less in pounds than dollars... :j
It lets you print off loads of different designs which you download and personalise. For kids' cards, especially, it is great as lots can have names or photos on them, and it has big brands like Disney on there. You can change just about everything on the card and print off envelopes to match.
The great thing for me is that I have 160g paper and envelopes ready so that instead of rushing out to get stung on a card for all those birthday parties, I quickly get one off the site, personalise it a bit using their software and print it off without it costing more than the materials.
There is one month free trial, too. You can browse the cards without subscribing and see if you like them. As the name suggests they are American but i can usually find something suitable. They do e-cards too.
I hope this helps someone. Thanks for all the tips0 -
'The Works' in Blackburn is still going strong, AFAIK. If it does say closing down, then it must have been there awhile cos I ignored it when I popped in there ther other day
My friend and I went on a card making course (1 day) at a local college last year. Taught us the basics and was really good fun, so worth the money fo us. Have bought lots of stuff but not quite got round to making anything yet0 -

My elderly father in law has been making birthday and Christmas cards for the family for years. He's not a trained artist but has fun drawing and then painting (water colours) a picture on the front. He adds a personal handwritten witty verse inside and his 'artist's' signature on the back. He doesn't buy special craft materials, he just uses white card, a pencil and watercolour paints.
These cards are a treasured possession and I've kept them all. I look forward to receiving these special cards more than any shop bought cards.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. I found www.stick-n-mix.co.uk to be quite good. Not sure if they're cheap though cos I've only just started making cards but they seem cheap. :beer:My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0
