Would you use BioDiesel?

Never run on the muck and have no intention of doing so.
My pick up has just come back from having new injectors fitted under goodwill, the cost for diagnosis and parts alone was over £1700 plus vat, plus labour.
Am i daft enough to risk parts so intricate and expensive with comedy fuels, not likely.
If i owned a Diesel vehicle worth the price of a tank of fuel i might be tempted to give it a go meself.0 -
For the record: You normal pump diesel has 10% F.A.M.E. (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) as mandated by european law. So for those that voted no: even if you like it or not you're already running a 10% mix of BioDiesel - or quoted from the post directly above .. "Comedy Fuel" - in your vehicle straight from the diesel pump wether you like it or not. Not so comedy now is it?.
Biodiesel's can vary dramatically from vendor to vendor as there are no ASTM standards for it's production or end product testing so please, creveat emptor! Use a reputable vendor and ask to see the equipment they use to process the WVO and even have a look at the end product. It should be a light golden colour with no hazing or swirling patterns on the surface. You should be able to see the bottom of the container clearly through the diesel and there shold be no grit or any bits / sediment settled on the bottom. If there are walk away and don't let it near your tank!
PsiNear a tree by a river, there's a hole in the ground.

The reason for the Poll was that one of the ideas I am exploring as a business model is biodiesel.
Given the complexity of the different blends and additives, I think I will research it a bit more.Never Knowingly Understood.

I think the biggest thing you need to research is the fact that any car under warranty or any fleet car at all is out of your market range.
Big proportion of the driving public unable to buy the fuel you produce, then0 -
I'd imagine there would be a big enough market without dealing with cars under warranty. The poll so far are 12 no and 9 yes or already do so it's not a bad rate.
Some of the no's are possibly down to people not really knowing that biodiesel isnt just waste veg oil filtered and thrown in the tank.0 -

Or because the manufacturer of their vehicle (or their fleet manager) has said you must not use biodiesel.0 -
