Would you use BioDiesel?
If you run, or are intending to run a diesel powered vehicle, would you consider switching in part/whole to biodiesel?

Not a massive saving from what i remember of the last time i looked and it can clog filters etc.
Not worth it to me.0 -
2 x gm Corsas + a 1.9DTI Megane running 100% bio and a Chrysler CRD running 50/50.
1st 1000 litres costing approx 50p a litre second 1000 litres will cost 38p a litre as we will only need more methanol.
Thats allowing paying 30p a litre for waste oil, 500 litres of the oil was free from local establishments.0 -

The problem is that, in other parts of the country, waste cooking oil is not so widely available.
Which Chrysler do you run?0 -
The thing is that a lot of pump diesel already has a small percentage of biofuel. My parents have run 50/50 in their old Mondeo and my mate 100% in his Transit but bought from a place that specialises in it (does all the additive mixing etc) and sells it with a normal fuel pump.0

Yes absolutely. I want to get a diesel 7 series or something similar when I've graduated and use a biodiesel generator. Unless I've grown out of such ridiculous cars by then...

If Biodiesel were £1 p/ltr and normal diesel were £1.20, would that make more people change their minds?.Never Knowingly Understood.

Ford handbook states not to use straight biodiesel.
I think standard pump diesel has 5% / 7% biodiesel added anyway?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
My brother in law brews his own biodiesel as part of a 'cooperative' who have an agreement with a couple of local takeaways to remove their waste cooking oil for free.
He's been running a Landcruiser and a Hilux on it for the last 4 years (I think) with no issues.
Costs about 28p a liter to produce if I remember correctly.
If I had the space in my garden and some likeminded local folks I'd to the same.0 -
May want to keep that quiet, Don't the rules state for your own use only? A group of friends may affect
