thanks, I will go to my local corner shop and see what they have to offer, problem is last time i went they had loads of different cards but didnt know which was the cheapest
It's like a sweet shop for calling cards, I've said before to be careful with calling cards, anything that sounds too good to be true...probably is.
I converted my parents to Nomi following recommendations from people I know - they just top up the sim and not worry about going out to get calling cards. The UK rates aren't bad considering my parents don't want a contract so they now use it as thier main sim.
I've done a little research, Nomi got 4p to Pakistan mobiles at the moment - others are at around the 9p mark.
Hope this helps?0 -

I don't know what kind of speeds you get in Pakistan, Maybe few kbps.
I would not recommend skype. I myself can't get very good video b/w UK and AU at 8mbps both sides.
Anyway, to the OP,
try chilli talk, globaltel.
These two were very good, about a year ago. Gave loads of minuts for 01, 02 calling numbers (you call 01, 02 number and forward your call).
But beware, they last only 30 days and there is daily deduction of few pence.
Hope this helped.

I have been using these lot for the past couple of years to ring may family in pakistan. Compared to all the others out there i find this is the most cheapest and cost effective For a 1 hour talk it cost me about £1.70p
nobelcom.co.uk coose uk to pakistan cell the cheapest one is 2.9p per minute
. You register online credit your account with the ammount you want and use the local access to coonect. Local access numbers
They do other countries aswell0 -
your parents should check how much it is to call you from there
due to a lot of competition in the phone market there - some of my relatives are able to phone to the UK for the same price/minute as a local call to someone else in Pakistan!0 -
Ignore the SPAM above and consult the MSE CallChecker.
http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/pakistan-mobile/bt/easyTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I use voipgain, they have a local access number and you can phone that from your mobile. pakistani mobile rate is 3.3p/min plus a connection charge of around 3p/call.0
