Right, after spending 15mins on the phone to san, they told me this..... there is a block on the card, there is no reason why the block should be on and they can not take the block off... so i have to move all my account money out of this account and into another until they issuse a new card and change the pin for my card/interent account... just incase someone has hacked it!!

so until my money clears into my natwest account i have didaly sqat... oh but i get get £5 into my account for a 15min phone call to a 0844 number off a mobile :/ thanks!

Try calling the fraud department, they may be able to sort it for you. They keep doing this to my internet account (claiming it's a card payment then saying oh there's nothing on there), you always hear rubbish from the standard phone people. Best thing to do is move.
Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.

Unfortunately it happens to all of us (myself included)

It doesn't happen to me, but that's because I bank with a competent bank :)
  • Right well i have transfered all my cash to my natwest account and have emailed san to close my account... lets hope they dont buy this bank out!

Lucky natwest and san have a fast transaction agreement so my money only took 5min to transfer thank god...

oh and they said they would give me £20 for the cost of the call.... yer only £5 was entered into my account!

The was a clearing bank in the USA which was hacked last month,it came to light after a hobby shop's online ordering went wonky & loads of customers had money take from their accounts so it may be that the OP was/has used a company which uses said clearing bank recently.

This is the thread that started it all..

No you're safe then. Its only Natwest branches in Scotland, and RBS branches in England that are being sold to Santander. My accounts are now with Natwest, and Ive just escaped Santander, and have no plans to end up back with them!!
