Egg Stopped Card For No Reason

Thanks for the feedback guys,
If im honest, i'm playing the part of the awkward customer as i dont intend to use the card anymore. I guess i just felt insulted that they had done this, and i have issues at the moment with Experian. I finally got referred to section 20.2 (as most of you suggested), heres the small print:
20.2 We can end this Agreement at any time. We will normally give you 30 days' advance notice by post or e-mail. However, if there are exceptional circumstances, or in any of the circumstances referred to in Condition 19.2, we may end this Agreement immediately and tell you about it afterwards, unless we are required by law to give you notice first. You can end it at any time by telling us to do so by post, phone or Secure Message.
(section 19.2 explains immediate payments for no regular payments)
Basically as mentioned above ...The fact is that Egg (or any other company) don't have to lend money to, or do business with, anyone they don't want to.0 -
they're keeping most profitable customers and binning the rest, i think this is the 2nd round
don't take it personally
I would be surprised for a mass cull to take place now as EGG are in the process of being sold off

I have just received a letter saying my card is to be closed as well. It has a zero balance on it, and not used it for a long time though as the APR is too high, although when it was used it was paid off on time and managed in good order (along with two loans I had from them in the past). I know they can do as they please but its still annoying. :dance:0

Can't understand why it is annoying, you say you haven't used it for a while, they might as well give your credit limit to someone who is going to use the card and maybe make a little money out of them.
If i had car outside with no petrol and never used it,then i would sell it on.0 -

Because its handy to have in case I needed it, and for balance transfer offers that they do from time to time. :dance:0 -

I was a victim of a partial-cull in the second wave of Eggs customer-reduction campaign recently. I've had two Egg cards for about 9 years now - always paid on time, varied use over the years, sometimes a lot, sometimes not as much. Not always paid in full, but always more than minimum. No credit difficulties, high income, no negative stuff on any of the CRAs, amount of available credit compared to income - less than 15%. So I too was very annoyed to get two letters stating that my accounts had been reviewed and the credit limits were being reduced in accordance with "responsible lending". I was then advised to check my "problems" using a CRA and to seek help via Debtline or similar help!!!!!!!! The credit limits were halved, making the cards more or less useless - just as useless as Eggs useless staff who can't comment about anything other than to tell me the "review" highlighted the "need" to reduce my credit limits "in line with responsible lending policies and affordability" . Hmm. All CRAs checked and absolutely no problem on any of them. But as far as I'm concerned they can keep their cards where they fit best - I will simply pay them up now and close them. I don't particularly want to enrich an organisation which treats me like rubbish and lies constantly to customers, not to mention inferring negative allegations about the way I conduct my financial affairs!!!0
