Broken Sky box - get it replaced free

I have a Sky HD box (2006) and a normal sky box (2003). I pay for multirooms, movies and sports. Ialso have sky talk, line rental and sky broadband. I phoned up last week and reported a fault with my HD box. I was getting a "satellite signal not being received" message (code 28) for weeks on certain channels. They checked everything and said it was probably a problem with my box. Call out was £65 or £9.95 a month to repair and maintain it.
I phoned them tonight and said I wasn't satisfied as a good customer and wanted to cancel. I was going with Virgin or buying a cheap box off ebay. They are now coming out in 2 days to either repair my box or give me a new HD box for free!!!
Just shows you what you can get if you don't accept first offer and complain!! Result.:j

They may try and fob you off with what they describe as refurb, which is in actual fact a digibix rejected by another customer, again because they do not carry out any repairs to receivers.
Insist on a new $ky+ HD box. Nothing else will do. They no longer manufacture any standard digiboxes.
Rubbish on two counts - Sky now have a new repairer for their boxes who apparently do a reasonable job. Also for your info they are still manufacturing standard boxes and using them for standard multiroom installs.0 -
