The Great Cheap, Safe Fireworks Hunt
Comments
-
Hi
I used Lidl last year and their fireworks were much better than those that I had in previous years. A bit strapped for cash this year so I have bought 2 cyber boxes and Cocktail of rockets for £20 + Firefighter £9.99.
The cyber boxes were actually very good for the money last year so I hope that they are the same again. The firefighter ended the evening well but I have avoided the Ipenema as I like colour.
Please can anyone tell me if the rockets are ok or a waste of money?0 -
Is this a good deal?
I can get two Platinum II's and a cosmic by Dancing Red Devil for £130, or I can get them for £60 each for the Platinums and £40 for the Cosmic.
What's the Platinum II like? is it a good deal?
Let me know your thoughts.0 -

Where abouts are you located Windmill? £130 can go along way if you are near some decent Firework retailers0 -

Not too sure on the rockets, never had them myself although I don't think people were too happy with them last year sadly, because they didn't produce much of a bang. Also, not sure if its still the same but there was a problem with no tube being included with the rockets last year so to avoid disappointment on the night may be worth trying to get hold of some type of tube now?
I have had both the FireFighter and Cyber Box in my stash in the past and both were brilliant! I have a firefighter this year too.
I haven't included a stash pic in this thread yet so thought I may as well
Also have 8 of the Plasmic Lights from sainsburys, 5 packs of sparklers and the free pack from last weekend although they are not included in the pic sadly.
I have:
-Fire Pack (Weco)
-Fire Fighter (Weco)
-Blazing Star (Brothers)
-Ultimate Battle of Colours (Brothers)
-El Ninjo (Royal Party)
-Lightening Strike (Brothers)
-Crackling Snake (Fireworks International)
-Street Fighter (Brothers)
-Ninjas Power (Brothers)
-Lightening (Absolute)
-Crazy Crown (Brothers)
-Sunset (Absolute)
-Little Stars (9 small cakes, by Royal Party)
-Aerial pack (TNT-free)
- 2x Plasmic Lights (TNT)
-5x Long Sparklers (TNT)0 -
Another reminder that most people buying fireworks will get a better deal from thier local all year round firework shop than a supermarket and free advice also included.
If you need to find a retailer then just list your location and someone will hopefully pop along with a name of a reputable shop close to you.0 -
Great Stash Dan2310 you will not be dissapointed with that and I would reccomend the little stars to anyone - they may look small but they pack a real punch for anyone doing a garden display.0

I love the snakes - nice different firework very unusual.
What are you firing for your finale?0 -
i'm in Hampshire near Winchester so there arent many good shops near me. i normally go to this place called allington nursery which is near eastleigh and supposedly 'the souths biggest firework stockist' and spend a fortune, but this year i've decided to tone it down a bit!
i got the majority of my pyro from lidl this year as ive used it the previous years and always thought it was good stuff, but i had to get some decent rockets so i went to allington to get a 9 pack of black Gemini which i love, even if they are overpriced from there.
but as i said i was wondering what the Platinum II is like? anyone fired or seen it before?
stash this year (only a small one!)
4x ipanemas
cyber box
cocktail of rockets
voodoo thing (cant remember its name now, from lidl)
and 9 Blcak Gemini rockets. whoop!0 -

I would not risk it on a DRD firework, especially given that this will be the biggest spend for your stash. If you can then try and stick to other brands you will get better quality and safer fireworks.0
