The Great Cheap, Safe Fireworks Hunt

Normally get a "selection box" or two (nice and timid for the littlies and our aspie) and some rockets (for my wife and our eldest).
We've got a Lidl opened up near us - are they worth a try for fireworks?
Sainsbury's often seem to do BOGOF, but with nothing really to benchmark them against it's a bit of an empty offer for me.
The two Weco selection packs on offer(cyber pack and fire pack)from lidl are really good;proper made, german quality and superb effects to boot-go for them, you won't be disappointed! The two rocket packs on offer are mixed-the Starlight pack is all red with no bangs(but fairly boring) while Cocktail Of Rockets is mixed;only four of them have decent effects and a loudish break the others are gentler and more of a flop.0 -
Si7, I asked if anyone knew if makro fireworks were any good a few pages back but nobody seems to know. Those brothers fireworks can't be tracked down to watch vids.0

I think the problem is Makro make it nigh on impossible to buy from them so nobody has managed to bag anything to form an opinion. I'd expect the stuff to be good though, Brothers/Skycrafter don't seem the type to go in for air filled fireworks.
Have you got a card? Could you check them out?0 -
Thanks for those links Officemonkey, Latifs seem to have some of the old Benstar range that I believe Lidl sold some years back. Also some Dynasty pieces. Think I'll pop down this afternoon & take a proper nosey if I get chance to nip out.0

Is Sainsbury's (or anywhere else) better than Lidl for rockets? Budget for rockets maybe £10 or £12?0 -
Yeah I've got a makro card.
Gotta decide to take the gamble with makro or to grab some weco.0 -
You won't go far wrong with any of the Weco stuff from Lidl but I'd steer clear of the rockets. Jet Blast at Aldi are rumoured to be a good buy at 9.99 for a 14 pack but I haven't fired any.
Here's the Aldi Jet Blasts :

Where are you located roughly, I used to use the Halesowen Makro & could make it there if you were going along.0 -

Thanks SnowRules. There's no Aldi around here, but there's one near where I work so that's perfectly possible.0
