Not heard of Hootys before, did they not know themselves what they were selling? Probably generic Bright Star, Esco etc but might be a find - Makro are doing Brothers/Skycrafter after all.

    Anyone know?

To be fair the lady on the phone didn't sound that interested in fireworks! But she did confirm that they had not leaflets left to fax me a copy, and also that its open to the public, unlike Makro. Might pop into Hooty's on sunday and see what's what, they are probably selling Bright star / Esco but you never know!

Was also hoping that we'd have some more info on-line about what Makro has to offer though!

Can anyone help on this one?

I've experienced the same lethagy in the past when enquiring about fireworks, wake them up with the line you have a budget of £1200 for the Scouts annual display and were advised to try <insert their company name> but need to collect this afternoon, can you help? Never fails ;)

Makro have a taster on their flyer but says see instore for more great fireworks. This looks pretty damn good for the money, Brothers/Skycrafter too, top quality brand :

I used to just set them off as I feel but as of last year I started waterproofing/ staking my fireworks in the day.

So I made a firing list so I knew where everything was and so that the display builds up towards the end :)
  • Here are the Hooty's flyers, bit fuzzy some of them, but mostly legible:

Also, here are the Latifs flyers (Centre of Birmingham)

Thanks to Baker21 for posting these on the The Firework Shop List Blog! :D

Have fixed the links for you :)

Thanks for posting them up! Hootys looks like a good deal with the BOGOF on all products! Wonder if they can be mixed and matched?

So where do people suggest to go for family fireworks?
Normally get a "selection box" or two (nice and timid for the littlies and our aspie) and some rockets (for my wife and our eldest).

We've got a Lidl opened up near us - are they worth a try for fireworks?
Sainsbury's often seem to do BOGOF, but with nothing really to benchmark them against it's a bit of an empty offer for me.
