has anyone had any experience with Tesco Standard fireworks?
if so, could you please post some reivews. cheers.
Not a very objective review, I'm afraid. Last year I bought two £10-ish boxes from Tesco on BOGOF and even the 3-year-old thought them uninspiring. They were small, cheap and unimpressive - so I got what I paid for! I got much better ones the year before, but they were from Tradex (who are now closed near me).
Reading through this thread, the BOGOF offers don't seem very worthwhile. And I'd like to add, avoid Tesco unless you are happy with rubbish.0 -

That's the one - the old Sainsbury's on the ring road! Now you can see why I was disappointed in the Tesco boxes.
Now for a bit of help from you - I'm not a firewords fan and can't see the point of rockets, but I've got to spend £10 on fireworks to take to a party for a dozen under-7 year-old (mostly) girls. I suppose they want pretty-pretty, rather than just big bangs. I know you would buy a cake or two for yourself, but what should I get for a party? Anything worthwhile in Morrisons or Lidl's 'cos they're convenient?0 -

Morrisons have a small box from Dynasty for £10 BOGOF with a few fountains and a couple of candles, or a box for £12 from Cosmic called Mercury with fountains, rockets and candles.
If i were in your shoes would plump for the £10 BOGOF box from Morrisons, it's called 'Brass Monkey'.
Morrisons seem to have the best selection going of supermarkets so go there.
Hope that helps, cheers.0 -
Can someone advise a fireworks novice on what some of these terms actually mean? I'm a bit lost with 'cake' - are they the ones that you light once and then they send up lots of sparkles/colours? I'm trying to find some that aren't too noisy (lots of babies/small children at our party this year) and I don't want to be back and forth lighting individual ones as I find it a bit scary  lol, bit of a scaredy cat0

Yep thats bassically it, lasts a long while and are gennerally the best fireworks.I'm trying to find some that aren't too noisy (lots of babies/small children at our party this year) and I don't want to be back and forth lighting individual ones as I find it a bit scary  lol, bit of a scaredy cat
Cakes last long so you wont be back and forth and there are a lot of low noise ones available for kiddies, you might like a few big fountains to. Supermarket boxes are often full of small fountains etc which would involve you going back and forth. Best advice would be to go to your local fireworks shop tell them your display situation, and they will most likely advise you on the best stuff for your display.
Any more help just ask.0 -

Has anyone used http://www.fireworksinternational.co.uk/ before?
Are their small cakes, like Laser Bombard (£14.99) and Triple H Bomb (£15.99) good fireworks/good value?
I can't see anything, but do they have a minimum spend?
They look good for the money, just wondering if anyones used them.
Cheers,
