if you leave the floppy disk in, it should boot to a dos prompt?

try creating another 98 bootdisk

when i try to boot up with the floppy it just says remove floddy or any other media and press any key. when i do that it says missing operating system

has it ever booted from this floppy?

did you download the exe and run it to create the floppy, or just copy the exe to the floppy?

You should have double clicked on the .exe to create your boot disk.

just in case it's not clear, run the exe on the other PC, that will create a bootable floppy, copying the file to it won't work,.

thanks albatross i was saving direct to floppy without running it:o
now formatting hard drive hopefully to get back to square 2
