I guess I must've. Either that or I just don't remember, which could have happened too - damn manic episodes that come with my bipolar disorder often kick me with memory loss. But I really don't remember £25. But thank you anyway :)

I'm sure payments are automatic but if you don't get any this year (when you should) maybe ring and check. They have a habit of not sharing information between the different agencies!

Oh, I'm familiar with that one! IS told me when I changed my address in April that they'd update it for DLA too, but they never did, and that caused a whole lot of trouble later on...

    Hi,

I received my £250 giro this morning, went to the Post Office to cash it and went to the Salvation Army who I volunteer for over Christmas and gave it to them.

There are a lot more deserving people around that don't get it than I am. It will do a lot of good.

That is a very generous act and I am sure it will help a lot of people!! I am slightly confused though, you posted this Yesterday saying you had received your giro that morning and cashed it and delivered it to the Salvation Army, how did you manage that on a Sunday?
  • I have just seen the time of your post Gemstar and guess you meant on the Saturday morning!! I was getting excited thinking we may be getting Sunday mail deliveries!!! That would be something!!

The temperature needs to be/be forcast around zero degrees for seven days. Here's a handy link where you can check whether your postcode is or has been eligible for it.

    Payment due in my town.

The Met Office have notified the Department for Work and Pensions that 1 period of very cold weather has occurred in the RG1 postcode area between 1 November 2010 and 26 November 2010, triggering a Cold Weather Payment.

If you have qualified for Cold Weather Payments since 1 November 2010 and live in this postcode area, you are due to receive 1 Cold Weather Payment.

Please bear in mind that you should not expect payment immediately. It normally takes up to 12 days to process a payment.
