Can you drive on the motorway in N.I with R plates?

Yeah and believe it or not I have seen the police stop someone (oddly enough whilst 'non-R' drivers were racing past at 85.2 + 2 = 4

Yes you can but your restricted to a max speed of 45 mph and as for some people P'd off by sitting behind R drivers on motorway thats what the overtaking lane is for :rolleyes:0

And if they really get so peed off that they cant slow down then overtake (or lets face it, they should have spotted the slow driver a long time before they got there), then they are probably more of a problem on the motorway than you driving at 45!2 + 2 = 4

Agreed, but I'm guessing rjh090384's comment is more to do with slow moving vehicles during peak periods.0 -
You can definitely drive on the motorway with R plates in the left hand lane only. Apparently you aren't even allowed into the overtaking lane if you're stuck behind someone going under 45. It's a hazard to those doing 70 in it coming behind you.

i did no t know that about the right hand lane!
but anyway
its very hard to stay to 45mph, i must admit i did go slightly over it.. (early 50s, nothing serious) but a year fairly flys around till they come down!
