Just a query, how often do people generally replace their sofa's? We've had ours for donkeys years!

if i was u i would keep well clear of DFS we bought a leather 3 piece of them costing £3500.00 absolute crap
i would recommend a company called custom made furniture, where there is over 4000 different frabrics & leathers to choose from and u can have your furniture made to any spec you want
EG height, depth, hard cushions or soft the list is endless and a lot cheaper than DFS
    hope this helps

Do you have their [custom made furniture] contact details, please?

We liked the Miami range at DFS especially their contemporary revolving single seater. The whole thing will cost us nearly £2k. As fellow MSEs are not so happy with DFS I would like to buy a similar design elsewhere.

Had 3 cloth and a leather sofa over the years and always been happy. Now about to buy 3 seater, 2 seater and a chair in dark leather.

I second that. We recently bought a sofasofa sofa (and another sofa!) and trawled everywhere looking for the best price. sofasofa were not only cheapest but they will also deliver your sofasofa to your home where you get to trial it for ... i think a couple of weeks, so if it doesn't look right or you don't like it, they'll take it back.

our sofasofas are seriously comfy, really well made and were the cheapest even against the sale prices.

personally, i wouldn't consider going anywhere else next time.

    I agree too!!
Got a sofa bed form there about 7 years and and then a matching 2-seater about 5 years ago and they are both still going strong. I even used to use the sofa bed for normal sleeping for about 4 years and it's still great!

    Got down there..! :D
(no, I don't work for them!! lol :))

Just to let you know, We bought a leather sofa out of DFS 2 years ago and it has been great, everyone comments on how nice it is. We were quoted 12 weeks delivery but it arrived in about 8.
  • I bought a leather corner sofa for £800 from dfs 3 years ago and to be honest I was expecting it to be fairly rubbish but three years later it still looks excellent and is really comfortable. Also a mark appeared on the leather about a year ago ( I think I spilled something) and they sent someone out to fix it completely free of charge.

We bought 2 sofas from Multiyork 10 years ago - a lot pricier than DFS but fantastic quality. Still as good as the day they were delivered. You can get replacement covers from Multiyork or other places. I think it's false economy to buy cheap sofas - think how much they're used!

One last plug from me for sofasofa.

Get the catalogue. Go to Sofawarehouse/dfs/wherever. Find the sofa you want and measure it.
Go back to the catalogue and you'll be surprised how often you'll find the same sofa, same covers and all the rest of it with remarkably similar measurements at a fraction of the cost. Ours were 1 mm longer than the same ones in sofawarehouse and cost, from memory, 800 for the two as opposed to 2500 in sofawarehouse.

    Coincidence...?
