I did take the offer over the phone and they gave me a Ref. number. Assuming all calls are recorded and monitored I don't see the point on getting that in writting. I am with them for over 3 years (started with Tiscali) and they always honoured every word they said to me over the phone. When I had some problems with line and broadband disconnection they refunded the money for the days I had been withouth service and gave me 3 months free broadband and line rental for the problem I had experienced. All that was offered over the phone without writting confirmation and I was really pleased with the outcome. I know a lot of people experience problems with their customer services, but I can't say the same. I am confidente that if any mistake happens, I can call then and they will sort out the problem on the best way.

You have more faith in Talk Talk than most members on MSE.

I would have been out at the first opportunity.

    Especially with 02 available LLU.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Guys, do you really think I made a mistake? After all my reserch that was the best deal I could find and considering that they were always so helpful when I needed, should I be concearned?

Like any telco, TT is fine until something does go wrong-that's when you find out why they're cheap.
If you want the cheapest service then no, you did not make a mistake. Personally I am happy to pay a bit more for an O2 LLU service-but it's your call (no pun intended).
PS: and you have only put off the eventual day when you want to leave TT, and have to go through the hassle of a return to donor with the accompanying gap in broadband service.

You are buying a service, TT has probably the worst record for poor service amongst all providers.

Like Macman, I would far sooner pay a bit more for peace of mind with a decent company.

I liken cheap ISP's to cheap insurers, they are OK until you actually need their services, it is only then that you regret doing business with them.
