I know its light entertainment, thing do get pushed but this is outrageous cheating and treating the public and voters with no respect
Why? Treyc and Katie finished bottom 2. Flip a coin - it doesn't matter who goes.
Personally, I believe that out of the two Treyc is the strongest singer. However, I find her predictable and boring. With Katie, I'm curious as to what she's going to do each week.Simon says "I have to go with who I think the public will want to see.." - what a total joke! Has he not got the picture* that the public hate Katie?!
*(obviously he has and its all about generating PR for his show)
The public hated Cher for breaking down on her audition but getting through ahead of Gamu. Cheryl Cole's decision to select Cher over Gamu was simply because she was more marketable and more appealing to the public with the right mentoring. Last week when she sang Stay people seemed to have a change of opinion.
The judges last night clearly voted for the person who had the most to offer the show. Not the best singer.
As for the public "hating" Katie. What kind of insecure loser hates a young woman who they don't really know because of how they may appear on TV.
Anyway, they should just stop showing the X Factor as Matt is without doubt the runaway winner.0 -
They both would eventually have gone.
I am for Rebecca and Mat all the way!May 2013:0 -
Most of them are going out sooner or later. I don't think Katie stood a chance from the very moment the Gamu affair kicked off, everyone has decided to hate her regardless.
As for Trayc, she may well be able to sing, but she isn't very interesting, apart from the spelling of her name, which we pronounce as trake in our house, and is just ever so slightly irritating.
I read other forums, and I think that some people just don't get the 'x-factor' element of being a contestant on this show, which goes a bit futher than just being able to sing in tune. That is why some apparantly unlikely acts actually go on to be recording artists and show people.
It's not a fix, I have seen the judges refuse to vote in this way in previous years, they simply vote for the act they prefer for whatever reason. The public, in spite of how it comes over, are not a collabarative entity, nor do they have a mutual consensus of opinion. That could only become apparant if you were able to vote for the act you want to get rid of.0 -
What do you think?
Well annoyed with the results on Sunday, I know its light entertainment but such obvious fixing and favouritism (?) for one person is beyond.
Having a favourite is one of the underlying principals of the show, I don't see why it should be considered a fix. Cheryl's actions were understandable, and I have seen this happen in previous years too.
So I am confused by all the fuss, it's nothing new.
Dermot asks Simon who to send home = Treyc (even though he admits she better singer and always going on about a singing competition)
I think it is safe to assume, that it's a bit more than just about singing. Unfortuanately for Trake, that was pretty much all she had to offer. Katie, I think was doomed from the very moment the Gamu affair hit the media, which is a pity as she does have an xtra something over and above her singing ability - which may or may not be as good as Trakes. Then for some totally strange reason he asks Cheryl who she is sending home, er excuse me! If i'm not wrong the judge who's act it is, always gets asked last??
I was a bit surprised by this, and clearly so was Cheryl.Dermot then strangely decides its become a majority vote with only 3 judges voting and cheryl not.
Nothing strange here, whether it's the Judges or the Public, it's going to be the number of votes which decides. After this turn of events Treyc gets the boot and bought out of a contract Katie, who has a family who knows a relevant person in the show, gets saved....
Blatent Fixing!!!!
Or maybe Simon and Louis believe Katie is just a touch more interesting! Don't be influenced by the media's interpretation of what is or is not true.0 -

You're having a laugh aren't you?! The public have opinions and feelings towards everyone and everything because of how they appear on TV! I think you've probably branded yourself an insecure loser as well...come on, admit it..there's someone you "hate" because of the way they appear on TV.. Simon Cowell?? Piers Morgan? Wayne Rooney? Some chavs from wife swap?0 -
Not really been watching it, but caught a bit of it this morning. When Dermot asked Cheryl for her vote, she said she wasn't going to vote, then said she'll vote after the other two judges had, so it would go to a deadlock, i.e. two votes each. How on earth would she have known that the other two judges weren't both going to vote for the same person as the first judge? There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

I dont know if this was originally put on the Vent boards, but,ITS JUST A TV SHOW.It is entertainment, not really a talent show, its pantomime. It never ceases to amaze that people are still falling for all the PR stunts. If it has one fault it is sometimes embarrassingly obviously contrived "storylines".Cowell and Jordan both know how to keep in the public eye.0

100% serious.I think you've probably branded yourself an insecure loser as well..
You think wrong then..come on, admit it..there's someone you "hate" because of the way they appear on TV.. Simon Cowell?? Piers Morgan? Wayne Rooney? Some chavs from wife swap?
Hate is a very very strong emotion. Personally, I don't get to emotionally involved with any individual who I see on a TV..
Simon Cowell - respect. He's knows what he can sell.
Piers Morgan - annoying but often quite funny.
Wayne Rooney - Despite him having played for the 2 teams I dislike (almost wrote hate!!) the most and his antics I don't hate him.
Chav on Wife Swap - Pity.0 -

Think about it. Treyc had 1 vote to send her home. The 2 remaining votes could only have gone:
Lou = Katie, Dan = Treyc (Treyc 2 - Katie 1...Cheryl calls deadlock)
Lou = Treyc, Dan = Katie (Treyc 2 - Katie 1...Cheryl calls deadlock)
Lou = Katie, Dan = Katie (Treyc 1 - Katie 2...Cheryl calls deadlock)
Lou = Treyc, Dan = Treyc (Treyc 3 - Katie 0..Cheryl's won't get asked to vote)
So, Cheryl could in no way feel responsible for the exit of one of the girls regardless of the outcome.0 -

And because most of these outcomes would result in Cheryl calling deadlock, she effectivly fortfeited her right to vote. Which is why Dermot didn't return to her last.0
