I've tried one on today and fell in love. Maggie Soretto, "Christina" £899. Wasn't planning on spending that much but it looked so good on! I'm wondering whether I can make it work or find it second hand...

I felt like a cross between a princess and a cupcake. I can now see why people spend so much.
I'd seen beautiful ones for £600-800 tried one on and fell in love with it...£1140  I kept looking but unfortunately it was THE dress.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2331.07/£2700

Mine (Sidney by Sottero and Midgley) was £978, and I've yet to find out how much the alterations will cost, as I've got my last fitting on 20th February. (They can be up to £150 on top.)

Ok, maybe a little odd for a guy to be looking at this thread and posting, but hey.... Guys can take an interest in their other half's wedding dress can't they???

Anyway, my Fiancee's sister got married last year and as she's Asian went for a full on Asian outfit costing around £1500., which made me sweat just thinking about how much my OH's would cost this year.....
That is until a family trip to India (for me to meet the rest of the family before the wedding) was arranged and we decided to get all the outfits there as well. Although I'm as white as casper the ghost, I'll be wearing an Indian Sherwani outfit which cost £235 in India but would have been about £800 here, and my OH's dress was £450 (IN INDIA!!!!!) and is likely to be worth well over £2k here!!!!!!0 -
For those of you who are budget conscious about wedding dresses, look at charity shops. I used to work for the British Red Cross in one of their shops, and they had a specific bridal section, ioncluding a rail full of dresses, most of which were brand new, never worn (bridal shops gave them away as they were "last season" and cost no more than around £300 for any of them. There were some gorgeous dresses there
.
Just a thought!0 -
Oxfam have a section on their website, and available in some stores, of new wedding dresses...had quite a selection last time I looked but often limited to certain sizes of certain styles0

Yes - I tried several by Justin Alexander and Linea Raffaelli when I first started looking (before we'd even set the date
).....most expensive £2,850, cheapest £1,195.
I actually got the cheaper one, which is by Linea Raffaelli and was the one I fell in love with, but I had decided I couldn't spend that much money on my gown. I bought it 12 months after trying it, off Ebay from a stock liquidator because the shop had gone bust - it cost me £180 including courier delivery!
