Obviously it depends on your budget as to what your version of a silly price would be, but the dress i tried on on Saturday (purely for neckline research purposes of course) was £1095 and STUNNING. I felt like a cross between a princess and a cupcake. I can now see why people spend so much.

wow stunning dress! Really beautiful. I can see why people spend so much too. One thing i wasnt budgeting for was my dress which cost the same price as that one £1095. My dress is Maggie Sottero - Myra x

Wow that's beautiful!!
I too can see how people spend so much, I fell in love with a gorgeous dress only to be told it was £1200. Eek, way over my budget. Resigned myself to the fact that I couldn't afford it then googled the dress and found one on preloved - ex sample, my size and I paid £350!0 -
wow, that is lucky Kookai! I don't think i'll be that lucky as these were new in. I'll stick with my orginal plan and just have it taken up to the knee

Lucky you bride2be24, that's a lovely dress too. I couldn't justify spending that on the dress when the wedding is only £255, seemed a little off balance, lol xxxsaving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.

Thats gorgeous!
Mine was almost £800... *cringe* I originally wasn't going to spend over £300 but I felt amazing in it so I splashed out and justified it by saving loads everywhere else :PGetting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!

If you are doing the wedding for £225 there are not as many places you can cut back. We are doing the full massive wedding (we didn't plan to in the beginning!) and theres no way we could have done it all without me going mad and saving on every little bit (apart from my dress lol)Getting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!

The dress I fell in love with is a Maggie and costs £900 but I am having a copy made by a friend of a friend who makes bridal dresses for a living so it is only costing me £500

I tried this dress on-it was £4k!! Only tried it because the lady in the shop said it was her favourite!
It was beautiful and made my Ma cry, but there is no way I would have bought it! Apart from the cost, it is one hell of a dress to wear all day, all everyone would have talked about was the dress..not ME in the dress :rotfl:
My actual dress cost £1k, which I try not to think about..! If I do, I console myself by reminding myself that it was half price!
