Just uninstall all the surplus toolbars. With that many you have hardly any screen space left!
Hi, thanks, just removed google from IE, found out it,s AOL,s defalt one.Asked to remove yahoo toolbar, says it,s gone, still there, perhaps it,s because it,s homepage, about 25% of IE screen taken up with clutter never used.

Are you uninstalling via Control Panel>Add Remove Programs?
You seem to be confused about the distinction between your default browser and your homepage-no connection. You can set your homepage to be whatever you want in your browser. Having AOL as your homepage (why would you?) does not require the AOL toolbar.

If you have ccleaner use tools/startup to disable all the junk progs(toolbars) from starting. This can be reversed if you actually like the screen full of carp. Restart.

Hi, Just used ccleaner and registry, but not tools, will try that, as long as there,s easy reverse??? Do you just click on save to text file, theres an awful lot of crap there.

Open ccleaner, click tools then click startup.Click on an entry to highlight it then select disable at bottom. If you click on something already disabled the option to enable is there. You should stop most things from auto start except a/v,firewall,wireless ,if there and used.

But why use AOL software at all? It's slow, clunky, and completely unecessary. If you still want AOL email, you don't need to use their software to get it.

Just google any items you aren't sure about. Just because it's an acer, for example, doesn't mean you have to use any acer software.

Hi, probably like hillary when he climbed Everest, because it,s there.Just done speed test aol/IE, both the same.I know e-mail can be selected from others.I have trouble getting familiar with firefox, probably because I don,t use it much, but yesterday, trying to download hijackthis with AOL and IE,gave up, used firefox, ok, but couldn,t find the file, doesn,t save to screen as others, as I say familiarity.I shall have to keep trying others, used aol,s 6 years now. What,s your recommendation? Like AVG, I have no problems with it.just had daughters pc to clean up, riddled with stuff, avira, supposed to be ace.horses for courses I presume.I,m no stick in the mud, keep adapting, without this site, I would have been in queer street many times. Just update ;Taken AVG off and replaced with Avast5.No threats found on first scan, so AVG must have been doing it,s job ok.Cheers
