Infacol! Stuff of legend!
baby massage? Look up 'I Love You' baby massage and colic on google/youtube it will show you how to do this.. but basicall you lie baby flat and gently but firmly massage from left ribs to left hip to form the 'I', then from below right ribs to below left ribs across tummy them down to left hip to form the '¬' then finally from right hip up to below right ribs acorss to left ribs and down to left hip forming an upside down U shape across his tummy.. this helps air bubbles merge to form bigger ones which can then be passed.
rubbing tummy in a clockwise circular motion? Has to be clockwise as this is the way the gut works.
Lying him up your forearm tummy down and rocking him while rubbing his back in an anti-clockwise motion?
'bicycling' his legs?
Garlic gives DD6 terrible tummy ache.. is it possible here is something you are eating which is causing it assuming you are breastfeeding? .. if not.. please ignore!

Evening all
Had an interesting start to the day, as I completely slept through all alarms and got up almost 2 hours late! I made it to work on time - and DS2 to school - but I never really caught up with myself.
Since coming home I've made tea with some of the batch-cooked spag bol. Also made bread & butter pudd for the first time. Yum! DW emptied and re-loaded. Decluttered a pair of trousers from my wardrobe because I realised that they're too big! :T No idea how and when that happened, though.
I've had a browse on mse after tea. Just watching spooks and then I'll do an hour's work and get ready for bed.
Hugs to all! x0 -
Hi all Hope you are all doing OK.
Just nipping in to see what is on the list. I'm spending so much time in bed that I CBA to take the time to turn the computer on and load everything up :-( I really need to get with it and give the BD a boot. Off to do a bit of something now even if I only stick the WM on.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

I'm with piggers infacol is brill. I found sitting mine up when feeding helped. Other ideas Dr Browns feeding bottles, colief drops needed to use them for DD as she was finding breaking down the lactose in milk hard and that was causing the collic rather than the usual cause. I also stuck all 3 of mine (not at the same time!) in a carry sling and walked around with them so my hands were free to do other things while comforting them IYSWIM.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

If BF then tomato puree, red peppers, anything red(!) can give babies gripping pains. I feel for you as my DS1 had colic. There is a colic hold where you rest the child's head on the palm of your hand and their body along your arm, your other hand on the back, then gently raise and lower arm. I tried everything natural to no avail then used infacol. Good luck.0 -

We used fennel tea and something my ex sil sent over from Germany where she's a midwife called "babytea" - which was very like the fennel tea with added chamomile. That and baby massage helped. Rotten to see the baby in so much distress and hope something has helped. xhugsx
edit Chloris I remember that colic hold and it worked for ours too.Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
