Only thing I have to decide now is for games...Nintendogs or Brain Training for a girl who's going to be 8...

My daughter (8) is getting Nintendogs for Christmas. I've had a little play with it myself and, bearing in mind that I'm a 41yr old male, I think you'll be on to a winner with that. Cheapest online place I've found for Nintendogs is https://www.movietyme.com where they have them at £17.99 delivered. They sell US games but they do play on a UK DS (ours is a UK DS and a US game). Movietyme also have the 'Brain' games at £12.99 delivered - I just got 2 copies of Big Brain Academy as presents for people this morning.

    Hope this helps :)

  • Never had a single problem. Used them loads over about 4 years and most things arrive in 2-3 days if in stock.

My wife's used them a few times and had no problems. Delivery was prompt - within a few days. Customer service was also good when my wife wanted to return an item she'd ordered by mistake.

It might be worth giving them a call (0845 800 1020) and explaining your situation. Your order could be given a higher priority.

I purchased a Pink DS from them last year and it was delivered to my address on the day that it was released in the shop, It was delivered from their UK
base and was sent by Special Delivery.
  • I have never had a problem with Play, they always deliver quick, but maybe you could contact them to see if there is a quicker delivery option, like a next day service?

They choose their delivery method by cost of item

    Electronics and gadgets
We currently only send electronics and gadgets to UK addresses and for security reasons we can only send electronics and gadget items to the billing address of your account.

Electronics and gadget items priced under £25 will be sent by 1st Class mail.
Electronics and gadget items priced £25–£75 will be sent by recorded delivery and will require a signature on delivery.
Electronics and gadget items priced £75 and above will be sent by special delivery and will require a signature on delivery.

Just checked my quidco balance, it's 5.00 from play.com

This must be an initial usage fee? Whoopee that's a nice xtra, since I just noticed the info at the bottom stating they don't pay out on console purchases.:D
