VM cancelling contract for a better deal

Hi Folks,

I signed up to Virgin Media at the start of the week using Quidco. I'm not certain, but I think VM have added and extra component to the deal I signed up for. I think they've added £50 credit on top of the 6 months 1/2 price that I signed up for.

Am I within my rights to cancel the contract and sign up again using the new deal?

Thanks,
Ian

You can cancel within the seven day period HOWEVER VM may bar you from re-signing up for six months.A lot of companies do this to stop customers doing what you're wanting to do.
I believe that's what the done when I worked for them, although I was an engineer & not in sales.

They have added £50 credit for triple play. Worth calling them any outlining your annoyance as you have only just signed up to what you thought was the latest deal.

Luck of the draw. There will always be a different deal round the corner. Would you be happy if the deal was a worse one and Virgin called you and said we want to cancel your contract as the offer was too good compared to what we would give you today?

That wouldn't happen, simple as that.

Effectively I am paying a £50 extra above what I could be paying. That £50 means more to me than it does to Virgin. Virgin can well afford it, otherwise they wouldn't offer it.

I'll give them a ring and see what they say - for all I know, I may already have the deal but just forgot!

No your right it wouldnt because they entered into a contract in good faith on the terms on offer at that time, Just like you have!

And the terms of the contract allow cancelling within 28days for ANY reason.

Yes not in dispute but I doubt they would then allow you to re-sign as a new customer and qualify for the cash back and credit on the new terms which is what the OP wants. Spike has said they will bar you for 6 months from signing up. Having never been a Virgin customer I have no idea if that is right but at the very least would suggest good business sense would tell them only to allow the same terms as had you kept your orginal contract.

The point was, would Virgin call me back to say they were cutting me off because the deal was too good? No.

Whereas, I have a 28 day cooling off period and I can cancel and go elsewhere. Simples. In fact, many credit card have the option that if a price drops within a certain period, they will refund the difference.

If the analogy is lost on you then not much I can do. I was not being litaral just making light of what you are effectively asking.
