Thanks Andrew
Yes |I did try that suggestion of yours but im afraid still no joy....im beginning to think that maybe its just a case that the downstairs rads are just (to put it mildly! Knackered)...they are the originals since the system was installed in the late 80s.
Do you think there comes a time when the lifetime of a radiator has expired....?0 -
Andrew
Just a follow up....you know your suggestion of switching off all radiators and bleeding one at a time in sequence....just to check im doing it right.... do I fully open the thermostatic valve on the rad to MAX and close the lockshield valve (on the radiator)... or do I not touch the lockshield valve on the radiator....?
Cheers

Keystone
Have just unscrewed one of the drain bungs from the downstairs radiator....came out a muddy brown for a few seconds then ran clear....0 -
the rads can't have had it, because they work when hot water heating is off!!

Thanks Andrew
I also take it then that the rads which are turned off the TRV valve should be "Off" and the lockshield valve also fully closed and reopened in sequence as I work my way around the Radiators....?0 -
To add to Andrews suggestion. Just don't open TRVs for the rad you are playing with - take the head off for maximum flow.

Hi,
Just curious, what make of boiler did you have fitted?
GSRAsk to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
The Boiler is the Viesman vitodens 100 W0
-
Mmmm - doesn't that one have a built in circulator? Does that mean you have two circulators on your system?
BTW I'm guess that would be the System Boiler variant?
