I got some concentrate last year from a home brew shop! It isn't alcoholic but caused coughing fits!!0

It might be Castles Ginger wine? It used to come in small brown bottles with yellow labels to which you added a gallon of boiling water and sugar. I remember my mother making it in the open pressure cooker. We were given the blackcurrant version in a sherry glass, very grown up! and I think there was a green ginger version too. Old-fashioned chemists used to sell it. I'd love to make it again if anyone can find a supplier please? It wasn't alcoholic BTW and can be drunk as soon as it's made, no fermentation etc.The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

The chemist used to sell the Castles ginger wine. I used to make it every year when I was a child. Very hot it was!0

Yes that was it, Castles Wyness. It was available in Blackcurrant as well as ginger and green ginger. I've found the recipe on another thread, but sadly it doesn't look like it's available anymore:(
