Cost of deep cleaning a house?

  • I agree this is definitely worth doing. A neighbour of ours bought a council house in similar conditions, although the previous occupants were the ones doing the wee-ing it seems. Yuck! Along with two dogs and 5 cats. The house was absolutely rotten when they bought it to the point they had to rent for a short while as they could not move in with their baby.

But they have completely turned it around, and it's hard to believe it's the same property. No lingering smells, it's lovely in there.

It's also something I would consider doing myself if I were ever in that position.
  • On the subject of deep cleaning, I think this is just London, but might be useful to someone!

£29 for £100 worth of deep cleaning

Thought I'd update you on this. Well, it's been a year since we bought, the dog smell went once we'd got it cleaned etc. Put a new kitchen in (replastered, tiles up etc), redecorated throughout, new carpet and now we have a brilliant family home. It's a good sized ex council house, with fields at the back of the house and the children can walk to primary and secondary schools. Mortgage is lower than the rent (at the moment).:j
