You only have to apply for EDF deal by 30th November to get the £100 credit ... but of course the application must go live to get it. You may lose it (as I understand it) if you switch away before the end date.

It's for all new customers to EDF on the specific tariff whether you go via a third party site or direct with EDF. I feel sure if you become an EDF customer, they'll credit you the sum they promise.

Do you prefer French energy from EDF, or German energy from EON?

You may have heard, EON has been put up for sale by its German parent.

    I hadn't do you have a link?

What is the relevance though to the OP question?

It may be a decision not between a French and a German supplier, but between a French and a Canadian/Australian/Abu Dhabi supplier

EDF has worked fine with viewing bills, entering meter reading etc online for me since the day I joined them at the start of this year.

The link doesn't work for me. A quick search throws up a couple of recent entries referring to the possible sale of its Distribution Businesses. Of course that is entirely separate from its supply business.

Are you sure about this? What difference would any sale make to the end user if one were in the offing?

None whatsover really. It's always the same stuff coming through the same wires/pipes no matter where it's bought from.

Thanks for the link. Same story that was in the Sunday Times.

The point being that it doesn't have anything to do with the Supply business of Eon. This is a sale of their network assets. Even if it was their retail business it's hard to imagine any significant effect to the end user.

That was why I was querying Penryhn's earlier comment in case I was missing some fundamental point.:)
