I'd phone them and explain the situation and see what they say.

Or whats to say you did send it off but it got lost in the post?

That's exactly what I did, but they reckon it's my fault if I didn't inform them of not having received their confirmation of the extended guarantee...

I would agree with everyone who suggests that you just tell them that you sent the registration form off.
As long as you keep your receipt for the time covered I cant see them reneaging on their 5 year free cover to be honest.

Stop worrying about something that might never happen. Worry about it when or if it happens.
For give me for thinking that this isn't very good advice... If there is a way of sorting this then surely it would be better to try to do it before something's gone wrong...?

  • Well you didnt and im guessing you will have to bite the bullet on it.
I guess you're right, just thought it was worth asking the question!

Is there a fault with the machine? If not then nothing to worry about at the moment, and always SoGA to fall back on for up to 6 years against the retailer.

Re the registration, if/when something happens just say you sent the registration, ( I don't think they acknowledge these things), as lots of post never gets to it's destination. They offered a 5 year warranty, can't see how they can wriggle out of it.

Just thought I'd let you know that you were right after all! It was the warranty people I was talking to at first & they obviously wanted to get more money out of me, so they told me I definitely wasn't covered if I hadn't sent the form of, but when I spoke to the manufacturer directly instead, they said it's all fine & I'm covered for another 3 years, regardless whether I sent the form off or not. Glad I listened to you and tried, in spite of all the doom & gloom advice I got!

Might be worth asking them to confirm in writing, (e-mail would suffice), you could just e-mail them informing you are just confirming the phone conversation, unless you have already done so.

I was thinking along those lines myself, would feel a bit better having it in writing!
